David Root

Dave has been designing homes for over 30 years and traces his love for the craft to the inspiration he drew from growing up in a 200 year-old home in New England. From the hewn timbers to square nails in plank floors and hand-forged hinges and latches, his childhood home embodied what would shape his career; designing modern day homes that are practical, beautiful and enduring.

Early in his career, Dave balanced completing his education in the architecture field (BA and Master of Architecture from UW) with hands-on work experience as a carpenter and furniture-maker, solidifying the design/build connection that makes his work compelling both visually and functionally.  Dave and his wife live in Seattle, WA and spend their spare time on home improvements and traveling, when possible.

Danielle Schmidtbauer

Danielle grew up in the Midwest and became interested in design when helping their family with the plethora of DIY projects involved with renovating and living in an old farmhouse. While completing their degree in Architecture with the University of Cincinnati, Danielle worked across the United States and gained a breathed of knowledge about design and regional environmental considerations. She has worked in multiple fields of architecture ranging from multi-block hospital complexes to single family homes in Beverly Hills.

In 2020 Danielle moved to the Pacific Northwest and has been focused on residential design ever since. Her holistic approach to design thrives on the creativity that comes from learning how someone wants to live within their home and making that a possibility while respecting all project considerations. She strives to make your experience of creating a dream home enjoyable and easy.
